Job Description:
This position is for an experienced audit or accounting professional to play a primary project lead and subject matter expert role in our coverage of the Retail Accounting and Finance processes. A successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the risk assessment, control identification, development of audit testing, and completion of audit work.
Job responsibilities include:
· Acting as an auditor-in-charge for reviews conducted within the Retail line of business, primarily, but not limited to, accounting and finance related audits. This role entails leading a team through risk assessment, control identification and testing, and constructively escalating issues to senior management
· Performing Continuous Audit activities to stay abreast of changes or impacts to the control environment, such as staying current on new accounting pronouncements impacting our consumer businesses to ensure compliance with GAAP and working closely with our external auditors on higher risk financial components
· Participation in Change Activities for mission critical projects to understand and influence the internal control structure
· Building relationships with key internal stakeholders, in a consultative manor, to deepen understanding of the business and help strengthen the control environment
Qualifications:
· A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and an active CPA designation
· 6+ years of audit experience, including roles as a project lead, preferably with a focus on financial statement audits, ideally within or on Financial Services clients
· Experience with technical topics, such as SOX program frameworks, GAAP requirements and how they apply to consumer banking and lending businesses, and General Ledger reconciliations
· Ability to build strong partnerships with our senior-level clients, as we share common goals of providing a well-controlled operating environment to maximize value to our shareholders
· Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, with a high sense of urgency
· Works well individually and in teams, shares information, supports colleagues and staff
· Demonstrate supervisory and leadership capabilities, including effective performance management and staff development experiences
· Exceptional communication and relationship management skills
· Some travel will be required
