Job description

THIS POSITION IS FOR AN INTERNSHIP/CO-OP AND CANDIDATES MUST BE REGISTERED, FULL-TIME STUDENTS FOR CONSIDERATION. Systems and Technology Group has openings for software engineering co-ops. We develop/support operating systems, firmware, and IBM storage software for IBM Systems (i, p, x, and z). Our products include z/OS, z/VM, i5/OS, and AIX; we produce leading-edge technologies in blade servers and modular computing, parallel computing, grid computing, virtualization, Linux/kernel development, storage development/ management, networking, and internet technologies. SW engineering tasks include: code design/writing/porting, testing/ debugging, customer support, document and interface design, project management, and system/network administration. Basic requirements: candidates should have strong communication and programming skills (C/C++, Java, assembler, scripting, etc.) Candidates with at least 1 year of team-based working experience are preferred.

Candidates who are in other years of study (sophomore, junior, etc.) and who are working on degrees in fields related to Information Technology (for example, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, technical writing, human computer interaction) may be considered. Positions may be available for different seasons and durations.

Positions may be available in different locations, including: Austin, Beaverton, Charlotte, Endicott, Essex Junction, Hopewell Junction, Kirkland, Poughkeepsie, Raleigh, Rochester, Tucson, or San Jose.
