Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION / PRIMARY GOALS / OBJECTIVES:
The Receiving/Prep Technician's primary goal is to maintain the supply of clean disinfected pumps to the repair technicians with zero defects. Six different pump types are received, totaling 50,000 units per year into the Electronic Device History Record (eDHR) per the current Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) and FDA Medical Device Regulations.
The Receive/Prep Technician is responsible for the following:
• Label inspection, removal of potentially biohazard material and disinfecting prior to repair.
• Adhering to Standard operating procedures (SOPs) including biohazard procedures, current R.69 Labeling Requirements and Quality Systems Regulations (QSRs).
• Proper status labeling and electronic Device History Record (eDHR) documentation while meeting the required standard per hour.
• Receiving all units into the computer tracking systems, and completing electronic documentation throughout the process.
• Operating cardboard compactor. Bind up and transport bales per the safety precautions.
• Unloading trucks by lifting boxes up to 50 LBS and using the pallet jack and motorized hand truck.
• Operating the motorized lift table per the safety precautions.
• Operating the motorized conveyor belt per the safety precautions.
• Observing all safety policies and procedures when using chemicals and razor blade scraper for label and adhesive removal.
Skills/Experience Requirements Basic Qualifications:
• Prior production or assembly experience essential.
• Ability to read and comprehend detailed Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Display attention to detail in both production and Quality.
• Previous experience and knowledge of computer systems
• The ability to make decisions based on subjective criteria while following technical standard operating procedures.
• The ability to make analytical decisions when reviewing serial number issues, evaluating the status of the unit per the eDHR system and judging whether labeling is acceptable and the unit is clean.
• Excellent manual dexterity with mental/visual attention to detail for a sustained period is required to operate machinery, forklifts, and for removing labels and adhesive from pumps.
• Must be TEAM oriented.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
